What are the applications of silica in coatings?

* Anti-settling agent:

structure, which is very effective in preventing the precipitation of pigments in coating systems. Especially for color paste systems,

the appropriate amount of addition will greatly improve the stability of the color paste, reduce the amount of wet dispersant,

anti-settling effect of silica is very beneficial to the storage of paints, especially some pigments, such as metal powders and flakes,

* Dispersant

In the powder system, due to the small particle size and high surface energy of silica, it can be adsorbed on the powder surface to

form a powder surface and improve the dispersibility of the powder. In the same coating system, adding silica can significantly shorten

the dispersion time and improve production efficiency.

Adding silica to wall paint can effectively prevent the paint from dripping, improve the flatness of the construction surface, and greatly

improve the washability and aging time of the exterior wall paint. The bonding strength between the coating film and the wall is also

greatly improved, the hardness of the coating film is significantly improved, and the surface self-cleaning ability is also improved.

Adsorbing silica on the surface of powder coating can form a movable layer, and the production of a movable layer of "balls" prevents

the powder coating from absorbing moisture and agglomerating, and improves the fluidity of the powder coating.
