Why using Matting Agent into UV coating?

Recently, matte finish is becoming one of the most popular finish types in the flatting artist industry. People develop many

different types of matting agent like silica matting agent,wax,organic materials and fillers. Producing the matting agents should

take different production technologies and treating methods to achieve the expected matte results. Due to the wide using of

matting agent, it is more important to choose a matting agent with good gloss reduction effect and maintain acceptable viscosity

for the printing press.

There are two main different process technologies used to produce silica: a thermal process, which produces pyrogenic silica,

and a wet process, which produces precipitated silica, silica gel or colloidal silica. Generally speaking, silica is hydrophilic after

it is formed and can be treated with different chemicals to make the surface hydrophobic to varying degrees.

Normally, our silica matting agent belongs to precipitated silica which is suitable to use in various coatings like automotive coating,

industrial coating and others. Depending on different parameters of silica matting agent, we should make sure the final usage to

choose the most suitable matting agent.

The silica matting agent that is used in UV coating must achieve the below expections.

1. Outdoor damages resistance: as we all know that UV curing coating is mainly used in plastics, automotive,metals and others. So

when we add silica matting agent into the UV curing coating can avoid these damages solutions happen cause the our silica matting

agent will form 

a thick and transparent form on the coatings' surface to protect the accepted objects from outdoor damages like weather damages,

crashing damages and so on.

2. UV radiation resistance: the main function of using UV coating on the objects' surface is to make the visional attraction. When the

light is shining on the objects' surface and it will create a solution of fading, chalking, and other forms of degradation caused by exposure

to sunlight. When in this time, adding silica matting agent into it is essential. It has the property to make the coating avoid from UV

radiation damages
